  • Olive oil
  • 2 brown onions, chopped
  • 2 carrots, chopped
  • 2 celery sticks, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • Plain flour, for coating
  • Salt and pepper
  • 4 osso bucco
  • 1 cup (250ml) white wine
  • 400g can diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup (250ml) beef stock


  1. Preheat oven to 160c
  2. Cook veges in a pan with oil until softened. Put aside
  3. Coat osso bucco in flour and brown it in same pan with some more oil. Place in baking dish and spoon the softened veges over the top
  4. Boil wine in same pan on high for 2min, then add tomatoes and stock. bring to boil
  5. Pour over meat (covering all) and bake covered for 2hrs
